Mr Chris Wightman
West Vale Primary School became a foundation school in September 1999. For more than a century the School has been at the centre of village life, serving the needs of the surrounding community. This will continue and flourish.
We are very proud of our School and its ever improving facilities.
Outdoor play areas have been enhanced with the addition of the Foundation Stage outdoor play area and the football/chess area to the rear of school. Playtime and lunchtime staff are enthusiastic, offering children the chance to skip, play with hoops and balls and join in organised activities.
The Governing Body, Headteacher, teaching and ancillary staff are enthusiastically committed to maintaining a warm, friendly, caring, family atmosphere; which is evident and appreciated by all visitors to the School.
We believe that children are best nurtured towards reaching their full potential when they are happy and secure in their school environment. We are aware that all parents want the best for their children and our aim is to provide every pupil at West Vale Primary School with the best possible start to their education.
West Vale Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff, parents, carers, volunteers and governors to share this commitment. A copy of the school's Safeguarding policy can be found on the website or obtained from the school office.
The Headteacher, teaching staff and members of the Governing Body are always available, by arrangement, should you wish to discuss the needs of your child.
